Member of the Parliament of Finland 2003-2014 and again 2024-
Member of the European Parliament 2014-2024
Special advisor to the Prime Minister of Finland 2000-2003
Miapetra Kumpula-Natri, SDP, worked as a member of the Parliament of Finland for eleven years before being elected to the European Parliament, where she spent the next ten years.
In 2024, Kumpula-Natri returned to the Finnish Parliament, where she serves as Vice-chairman of the Grand Committee (EU affairs), Member of the Economic Committee and Head of Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
By education, Kumpula-Natri is an engineer (BSc).
Close to the heart and special expertise: EU, digitization, artificial intelligence and the data economy in an international framework, climate and energy policy, and human rights, especially children in conflict areas.
She is a mother of two, hobbies include book club and sports from yoga to hiking.
Equal rights and equality in all levels are also close to my heart. We must take care of the individuals and families in the change of working life. Societies have also responsibility on children.
We need to secure the freedom and security.
I am a mother who relaxes from the politics by walking with our dog Luka, by participating in a book club and by being a driver for my children. The highlights of my free time are spending time in our summer cottage and having long hikes in the Finnish nature.
